Lest we Forget

This is something that I don't really post, but for it being Remembrance Day in Canada and Veterans Day in the U.S.A.  I would like to post this out of respect to those that have been in the current and past wars, and also for the people that we have lost in them.

I remember as a child in school on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of the year.  We always had a ceremony to show our respect and gratitude to the people that sacrificed themselves for us to live in peace.

Lest we Forget.

In Flanders Field

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
